We all love a great spring fit. But what about when it’s still a little too cold for shorts and your favorite tee? Transition seasons can be the hardest to navigate when it comes to looking trendy and put together. Here are four outfit ideas to add to your wardrobe now, for an effortless transition.
Warm up a winter look with color
That’s right! For the days when it appears to be sunny and spring-like… but the thermometer reads otherwise, it is great to have a traditionally cooler weather set on hand that easily reads “spring” simply because of its color. I love wearing trendy pant suits to work in the winter, but when the excitement of spring sets in and I don’t want to trade comfort for style, I opt for a sunny color to warm it up!

Add shed-able layers
It’s as simple as that! Layers don’t have to cramp your style…I’ve seen too many adorable spring outfits ruined by a winter coat or jacket. To avoid this, plan ahead and look for items that can be layered. Shed the blazer when you’re feeling too warm, but know that you’re covered in case you get cold!

Dress it down
I do love the transition into winter, as it’s always a great excuse to dress up a little more. However, I must admit that the transition out of the colder season is equally as exciting. It always feels like such a relief to know that you’re entering a more casual season. It makes everything feel so much more laid back! One of my favorite ways to dress a look down for spring is by adding a graphic tee. As you can see, the look (shown below) could easily be worn to a more formal event if accessorized appropriately. However, by wearing the blazer open and adding a pop of color with a graphic tee, I look elevated, yet casual.

Include a “warm” and a “cool” item
Clearly this look is more directed towards the later end of the transition, but adding a warmer piece with a cooler piece is perfect for those special days when you feel chilled in the morning leaving the house, but are trying not to break a sweat by the afternoon! In this look, I chose a trendy poncho as my “warm” item, and my denim cut-offs for my “cool” item.
